The Incredible Story of Temple Grandin
Temple Grandin is an American professor who studies animal science. Temple Grandin was born in Boston, Massachusets on August 29, 1947. She was diagnosed with autism and was said to have brain damage which causes her to not like anyone touching her. She also does not like how the animals were treated, especially the cows. Dr. Carlot was one of Temple's closest friends and was there to encourage to conquer her disability. Temple has never married or had kids of her own.
The door that Temple sees is an pathway to a new beginning which she uses to guide herself for a new life. She created a " hug box" which intends to calm you down. The " hug box" relates to a person hugging and comforting you but instead it is a machine. She helped cows by designing a curved corral to help them so they don't feel threatenjed or filled with pain and suffering. Temple wrote an essay called " Animals Are Not Things" which she describes the rights towards the animals for protection and safety.
Temple Grandin has taught me and other
people that you can see obstacles as opportunities. The obstacles that you face and conquer will lead to a new life and a better one. You can also learn from the obstacles that you faced too. Once you conquer an obstacle there is no doubt that you can cross another one too. Temple has crossed her obstacle of overcoming her disability which lead her to great success and opportunities.
